Global WARNING
Since the early 20th century, global air and sea surface temperature has increased about 0.8 degree Celsius (1.4 degree Fahrenheit), with about two-thirds of the increase occurring since 1980. Each of the last three decades has been successively warmer at the Earth’s surface than any preceding decade since 1850. Past 5 years has been recorded as the hottest years in history. For the year 2019 another 1.1 degree Celsius increase was recorded and 2020 has been declared as the second hottest year for our planet. Satellite data reveals that rate of glacier melting in the Himalayas has doubled in the past 20 years. This predicts that two-third of ice-cover in Himalayas will vanish by the year 2100.
In the last 25 yrs. increasing temperatures has melted around 6.4 trillion tonnes of ice in Iceland and Greenland. This has caused the sea levels to rise by 0.7 inches. Scientists believe that by the year 2100 ocean levels would rise by 6.6 inches swallowing maximum coastal areas across the globe. Also, researchers have issued a dire warning that in absence of dire actions entire ocean ecosystems would suddenly collapse by the end of next decade. Currently, this increase is in its alarming rate that is clearly giving us a Global WARNING.
वैश्विक चेतावनी
बीसवीं सदी के शुरूआत से पृथ्वी के वायुमंडल तथा समुद्र के सतह का तापमान तकरीबन 0.8 डिग्री तक बढ़ा है । इस बढ़ोतरी का दो-तिहाई हिस्सा सन् 1980 के बाद दर्ज किया गया है । सन् 1850 तक यह बढ़ोतरी अपने न्यूतनतम स्तर में थी लेकिन विगत् तीन दशकों से यह बढ़ोतरी हर दशक में बड़ी तेजी के साथ बढ़ी है । विगत पांच सालों में तापमान में रिकार्ड वृधि दर्ज की गई है। जहां साल 2019 में 1.1 डिग्री तापमान वृधि और दर्ज की गई वहीं विश्व मौसम संगठन के अनुसार 2020 अब तक का दूसरा सबसे गर्म वर्ष था । सैटेलाईट से प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार हिमालय स्थित हिमनद बढ़ते तापमान के कारण विगत 20 सालों में बड़ी तेज गति से गल रही है। इसके गलने के गति से यह अनुमान लगाया जा रहा है कि साल 2100 तक हिमालय का दो-तिहाई हिमनद गायब हो जाएगा।
इसके साथ ही पिछले 25 सालों में बढ़ती गर्मी से आईसलैंड और ग्रीनलैंड में जमी 6.4 ट्रीलियन बर्फ गल चुकी है। इससे समुद्र स्तर में 0.7 इंच की बढ़ोत्तरी हुई है। वैज्ञानिकों का अनुमान है कि साल 2100 तक समुद्र स्तर 6.6 इंच तक बढ़ जाएगा जिससे अधिकत्तर तटीय इलाके डूब जाएंगे। अनुसंधान में यह भी उजागर हुआ है कि अगर इस अनियंत्रित तापमान वृधि को रोका नहीं गया तो अगले दशक के अंत तक समुद्र के संपूर्ण पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र का सर्वनाश हो जाएगा। तापमान में यह बढ़ोतरी अब काफी खतरनाक ढंग से बढ़ती ही जा रही है और यह एक गंभीर वैश्विक चेतावनी है ।
